Did you put anything into the pot to make it sturdier?
Our ceremony is indoors and ive been really wanting to have mason jars! This picture is definitely inspiration
Thank you MLDoddie!! My ceremony is also indoors so thats why I made these. I’m very happy with how they came out and this was a test run with water in the jars to make sure they held up well.
Here’s a rundown..
I bought the clay pots from Joann Fabrics for $1.25 each.. painted them black and then coated them with crackle painted. Once that dried we painted 1 layer of an off white. (this one doesn’t show the rustic look bcuz my daughter painted it white before we could put a coat of crackle paint.).. I then bought square foams and the hooks from dollar tree. I pushed the hooks into the foam and made sure they were standing straight. We then poured Plaster of Paris I bought from Michaels (with 50% off coupon) and let it dry and covered the top with spanish moss. They’re super sturdy and you can lift the whole thing from the hook. The jars are Yankee candle jars I burn like all my life (lol) and I just saved tall the jars when the wedding planning began. Hope that helped.
Where did you buy your shepherd hooks?
Thank you for sharing! Im definitely going to have to do something similar!!!
