- Wedding: March 2011
This one has a lot of pink tulips.
I love tulips. Needless to say I wanted to use tulips for my wedding. My husband and I were married in March…in Kingston, Ontario Canada…there was still snow the week before the wedding, yet we wanted a real winter blossoming into spring feel. I priced everywhere for tulips, but couldn’t commit to a florist in Kingston as I hadn’t moved there yet. I then found online that the Kingston Lung Cancer Association would be selling Tulips in the various hospital lobbies all over Kingston, a week and a half before the wedding. I couldn’t find a contact number so I decided to chance it and walk in on the day of the sale requesting 50 pots of assorted colored tulips. They got me intouch with the head of the project and we were in business. Not only had I found my beloved tulips, we also got to do something charitable.
I stored them in my fridge at lower setting till the night before the wedding when my husband’s sister, my mother, maid of honor and best man’s wife helped me assemble the centerpieces. No two were a like as I had bought all my round vases at the Salvation army for under 20 dollars.
