- Wedding: September 2011
Our wedding reception was held at the Beautiful Chart House in Weehawken, NJ on 9/18/2011. The Chart house faces the gorgeous Manhattan skyline from the Jersey side. My hubby is from the other side of Manhattan, Queens, so we used to joke that we both used to see different sides of the skyline. Being that my hubby was a New Yorker and I’m a Jersey Girl, we needed something right in the middle for Guests to have easy access to share our special day. We also knew wanted that spectacular city view. Our Church was a quaint Spanish theme Castle in Cliffside Park, NJ
I designed the centerpieces myself with a florist. Being that I am in the wedding business (I sell veils, headpieces & Bridal accessories & I LOVE to help Brides save money on these items) my Veil was custom made with Swarovski crystals and Spanish lace from Madrid. I wore a Monique Lhuillier from Kleinfelds bought at their sample sale since I couldn’t affford their regular priced gowns. My Bridesmaids dresses were custom made by a seamstress.
We now both reside in Northern Jersey but my hubby still says he will ALWAYS be a New York boy LOL We even had a bellydancer to celebrate my mixed heritage & she was beautiful. (Sicilian and Greek)
Hope you enjoy the view! The Jersey side is gorgeous, especially at night!
