- Wedding: December 1969
I bought this sparkly pillow from Big Lots and hand sewed my own touches. There is a picture of the pillow with and without the flower. (I want to take it off after the wedding)
The larger fabric is pewter, the dark strip is purple, and the top ribbon is silver. I took apart a flower from the bouquet I caught at my FI’s brother’s wedding and sewed it back together for the pillow. There are three Czech glass beads in the middle in a smoky grey color.
I did everything off the top of my head, so I don’t have step by step instructions. I made the pewter and purple “ribbons” by folding the edges of the fabric and ironing them down. I also burnt the edges of the purple and silver before sewing so they would not fray. I’m not sure if you can see, but the ribbons for our rings are white tulle. In all actuallity, I couldn’t find any white ribbon. But I love the tulle! It’s sorta invisible and isn’t distracting! Happy accident 🙂
I hope you like it! I’m now pondering having our monogram embroidered on the back, which is plain satin. And I have an extra lavender sparkly pillow if anyone needs it!
