Hey yall, I just wanted to share a find…
I have been searching and searching for pretty apothecary jars, but I didnt want to pay $20 for them. The candy alone is costing us at least $200 bucks, so saving money on the jars was important. So the hunt began, I went to michaels, TJ Maxx, Home Goods etc and the jars were all $20 on average…too much. So when I was on one of my trips to walmart, yes, WALMART! I found these…
These are not my actual jars (obviously) because my iphone is misbehaving right now and not letting me upload pictures, but these are identical. They had a ton of different styles and I was able to get ALL of my jars here.
The BEST part was NONE of the jars were over $10 and in fact most were between $5-$7 but ranged from $4-$10. We spent $100 on 12 jars WOOT WOOT!
I saw the exact same pedestal vase/jar that I loved at michaels for $24.99 at walmart for $10
Be sure to check in the kitchen section and in the vase section. They also have super large brandy glasses for $10 along with some other very pretty ones. I am not sure how the prices range in different areas (I live in NC) but I cant imagine them being more expensive than other places. I know you can find them at second hand stores but I wasnt having any luck. I hope this helps you guys out, Best wishes!

Ohhhh great idea! When I think of jars for weddings, I immediately imagine sifting through tons of thrift stores. This is easier!

I was just at my TJ Maxx in Grand Forks ND.. and they HAD THE CUTEST ever set (3) of glass with pedistal cake plates with lids. OMG they were adorable! But your right today I picked up a great apothocary at TJ Maxx. It was stunning, large, perfect in every way and only 10.00! I was going to get another most perfect one, but I found a chip and they would only take 99cents off for the little crack!!!!

I really like that second set, which you can use as canisters for your flour and sugar, or as a cookie jar after the wedding.

Hey yall! I found the first set in the cookie jar section (if that makes sense). It was in the section with all the other glass cookie jars I found. On that aisle was also pans and utensils. Drawer nick-nacks (such as a can opener), spatulas, stirring spoons, lunch boxes etc. They were down on the bottom shelf. I hope that helps!

What did you type in on walmarts website to find the top photo. I was unable to find them at my walmart so hopefully they are able to be ordered offline. I am just having trouble finding them. Thanks!

Check out this DIY tutorial I found just this morning! It’s technically for hurricane vases but not much difference except for no lid. However, just cover the jar with saran wrap until the reception starts! Good luck! http://go.tipjunkie.com/dc/639/myblessedlife.net/2011/02/ballard-designs-knock-off-silhouette-hurricane-vase.html

My fiancee and I went to 4 Walmarts, manned with pictures and info from this post, and didn’t find a thing. Now granted, Walmart workers are not always super-helpful, but we got lucky with 3 out of 4 REALLY trying to help us find them.
So I ask you, WHERE did this picture come from? Is it from the manufacturer’s web site? Is it actually from walmart.com? Did you make a mistake and they came from somewhere else? The only place I can find something similar is Crate & Barrel, and I can assure you that they are not under $10 each. Please let us know, as good and unique glassware for candy buffets at reasonable prices is REALLY hard to find.
