- Wedding: October 2012
sooo….my best friend is also getting married this year and when she and i got our dresses (my bridesmaid dress for her wedding and her wedding dress) i somehow ended up with a $20 off shutterfly card. for my save the dates i have already made a magnet through vistaprint.com, but before i realized it, i hadnt added my website to the magnets and there were no envelopes with the magnets…who wants to mail a business card sized magnet in a card sized envelope? not me. so i decided to order paper save the dates too. ive debated about just printing them off and mailing them out from something i created on my pc, but i want the somewhat professional look of it all…so i decided, hey, lets see what shutterfly has.
well, when you sign up you get 50 4×6 in prints for free. great deal, but its for a picture, not a card. well, i played around the picasa by google and made a collage (the same one i used in my magnets) and added text to it, saying “save the date” blah blah…and decided to order them!
this is the collage i used, featuring our little girl Emmalee 🙂 because she’s marrying her daddy too 😀
just add text to the collage and you’ve got a save the date ready to go and you can print it off shutterfly…or even walmart if you want, but i didnt check into the pricing there.
with the new account on shutterfly discount of 50 prints free, i got 73 (123 total) for less than $20….compared to $50+ for the cards at the same site with my $20 card discount and the $30 off promo code….so now i can use my $20 discount on something else!
prints however dont come with envelopes but i already have some envelopes i can use
by the way, my fiance’s mom and dad took these pics at their house when we were there a few weeks ago. didnt pay a photographer and i edited them myself with picasa by google and made the collage. easy peasy.
total cost of the save the dates, including magnets and envelopes…$0.33 a peice!!! whoohoo
