I wanted something super sparkley for my girls without cheaping out on acrylic and silver tone jewelry but also without breaking my bank account on genuine gems. So the answer for me was DIY!
I already had the tools; I use to make jewelry 7+ years ago for friends and family.
Here’s the run down of the cost
All materials, except for the box (micheals) and the filigree wrap (vintagejewelry supply.com) are from EBAY. (These prices don’t reflect shipping because most of the items were shipped for free.)
Swarovski Crystal Gems in Heliotrope:
4mm round= $0.38 each…..x6=$2.38
8mm round= $0.53 each…..x4=$2.12
16mm pear= $2.31 each…..x2=$4.62
28mm pear= $5.65 each
Sterling Silver Metals:
16″ chain= $.078 each (purposely got it short because of the added length from stamp and beading.)
22g wire= $1.40 1/2 foot
Filigree stamp= $0.50
Filigree wrap= $1.05………x3=$3.15
The Box= $1.00
Cardstock: Extra From Guestbook project $0.00
Total: $21.60 for each set, I have 4 bridesmaids.
I have a lot of material left over but such is the nature of DIY….back on EBAY it goes lol
I almost didn’t end up using the wraps because I had bought the focal bead too large, but with alot of manipulation, I was able to use it. 🙂
My mother and fiance love them….Can’t wait to see what the BMs think!
