My mom has a 3 row setting similar to the picture you posted and her 2.25ct round flawless and colorless diamond gets drowned out in it for sure. I would never tell her that though. The smaller the band or setting that your diamond is in, the more it showcases it and makes it appear larger. But that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t look like a big diamond ring. It just depends on if you just want a bunch of bling and finger coverage or if you want your stone to be the main focus. You could get your diamond put in a setting with a skinny diamond band and then have the same size skinny diamond band on both sides of the ring. You’ll have 3 rows of diamonds but on skinnier bands so that your big diamond doesn’t get lost.

This is a picture of the three band setting that we designed mine after. My center stone of mine is a family stone a bit smaller than 1 carat so here’s the original design with a 1 carat in it:

Personally, I think the shape of the band helps the diamond to stand out more. It has a little bit of a curve up into the center stone rather than just being a straight band (if that makes sense!). Good luck!!
