I made this mock up as an alternative to a centerpiece with lots of flowers. Total cost is approximately $25 for the vases and orchids. Unfortunately now we’ve decided on something else, but figured this might help others.
Basically we bought a trio of tall stem vases, cymbidium orchids, metal washers or screws and a floating candle. In our trial we poured the water halfway, added a washer to the bottom inside petal to weigh it down and dropped it into the water and filled it up. After that just add the floating candle and then add some votive holders and candles around the table. It was actually pretty easy.
Hope this gives others some inspiration!
PS. disregard the attachments below, i finally realized how to insert pictures!

so, if I may ask. Are you by any chance selling your items, since you changed your mind? I mean, that’s only if you have multiple of the vases.

Hi Ladies, unfortunately i only bought one vase for this trial. It was $12CDN for a set of three. These vasea are from a canadian store called kitchen stuff plus.
I’m not sure if they deliver or are available in the states. Here is the link to the vases: http://www.kitchenstuffplus.com/shop/product.php?d=&sd=&pid=W014795
