I’m in ♥ with RUFFLES!
Which is so hard te believe because I’m not a girly girl. I’ve come to realize though, the best place to embrace ruffles, without feeling awkward, is my wedding! So I may be going a little overboard with ruffles in my wedding, but I’m ok with that.
These ruffled table runners were super easy to make.
The fabric is from IKEA and already prehemmed to 18 inches wide.
All I had to do was figure out how to make a ruffle, without a ruffle attachment on my sewing machine.
I decided to gather and pin a piece, twice as long as the runner is wide, into pleats and sew it.
Then I sewed the ruffled piece onto the ends of the runner fabric.
Easy as pie!
NB-My sewing skills are just average. I can’t sew in straight lines and I hate following patterns… so even if you’re not the most experienced sewer, you can certainly pull this project off too!
The IKEA fabric, Petronella, was on clearance for $.99/yard, therefore each table runner (to accommodate an 8′ table) cost under $4 a piece to make.
