Okay, so after some thought I have come upw ith my table decorations. I didnt want to go to crazy with the table because honestly I wouldn’t want to be sitting with a giant flower in my face & hear someone on the other side talking that I can’t see. haha So here are the ideas I came up with.. for a visual effect (I am a visual person so my sister and I created something like what a table would look like).
the picture below is the 1st one.. floating cangles.. in vases with water & colored flowers glued to the bottom.. 5 candles surround those in a bigger circle (she wouldn’t let me light them because they go to some decoration in her house) & have flower petals or bead type things scattered.
& my other thought was to add a little more color to the table with little pomander-ish flowers in yellow to the table that i made with tissue paper..
side view of the vases…
so keep in mind there will be a little more color than this on the table (the petals/beads) but which do you think looks better.. with or without?

I like the second one with the added color. The yellow goes well with the pink and orange. I think the first picture without the yellow pomanders is too plain and boring.

TO BE HONEST I LIKE THE IDEA OF THE FLOATING CANDLES AND FLOWERS LOOK NICE AND WHEN YOU LIGHT THE OTHER VOTIVES IT WILL BE PRETTY. hOWEVER I THINK i WOULD PUT A MIRROR UNDER IT TO REFLECT THE LIGHT MORE AND dONT PUT THAT WHITE NAPKIN UNDER THE FORKS I DONT LIKE HOW THAT LOOKS. ALSO THE PLATES ARE PRETTY TOO…

I like it better without.

I like it without. I agree that it needs a little something but you said you were adding beads and petals. The yellow flowers are a bit random. They look like they were just kind of thrown on the table. I LOVE you linen color. Is it Champange?

@Ms. Silver: I was thinking of adding a mirror to the tables.. the white things under the forks are index cards haha we had 6 instead of 8 napkins at her house. & the plates are not going to be my plates.. also just a visual aid. although i do like them.
@jaglynn17: I actually did just throw them down.. I felt like I needed something more colored on the “table” and didn’t know exactly where to place them where they wouldn’t be close to a flame to light up on fire or cover the middle ones in the vases. And that linen.. haha I think it’s a sheet. It could be a table cloth though, I came over after she had set it up.. But I had been trying to find a color that I liked for the tables that wasn’t white or black so I might see if my venue has this color.. I think it is Champange. We didn’t have a round table either, so this is on the floor.. purely because I can’t commit to something withotu actually seeing it laid out first.

As someone who has experience in design I know things tend to look better in groups of three. I would add a third one of vases with flowers and floating candles. I would not add the tissue flowers, maybe that pretty yellow can go in the third vase.
I do like the idea of the mirror under the vases to reflect more light. If you use round mirrors then you could probably stick with only three votives close to but not on the mirror. If you want added color around them I would suggest a homemade candle ring or maybe you can find some discounted ones at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
Hope the suggestions help!!

I like it better without. I agree with @squinnak about the third vase. Perhaps that could have a yellow flower? I also think the mirror would add a lot. very nice!

odd numbers. It’s always better to design in odd numbers. The two just don’t seem balanced. I would add a third vase at a lower height also.

I agree that a third vase with the floating candles is better and maybe you can add color with the napkins–doesn’t add more stuff to the table. Have fun designing!

i vote put a mirror under the candles so the light reflects off

Maybe add another even shorter glass candle holder with floating candle in another color. A mirror will reflect everything nicely, AND it will also tie everything together with a look of unity.
