Our theme for our wedding is Vintage Vineyard. We are using dark purple and black and white damask pattern. For the table numbers, we took colored wine bottles and cut the bottoms off. Read Below to find out how we did this. Then I ordered wine labels and printed the numbers onto the labels and stuck them on the bottles. I am putting a flameless tealight under the bottle. You could use a regular candle but that is risky because the bottles do get extremely hot and could crack with the heat.
For the wine bottles…We first scored the bottle with a glass cutter from home depot (4.00 dollars), my fiance held the cutter while I spun the bottle. We only had to go around twice. Then we put a pot of boiling hot water on the stove and filled our sink with cold water with ice cubes. Dip the bottle up to the score line in the boiling water for 15s then put it in the cold water for 15s…you have to move the bottle around a little bit and may have to repeat the process a few times. They break off almost perfect, so we sanded down the bottoms so they were not sharp. We know we are going to have smokers at our wedding so we saved some of the bottoms to use as ash trays for them to go with the theme. We did go through a few bottles that cracked or what not..so you will need extra then what you plan for..but we are almost 100% Success rate now that we have it all figured out.
