This design was inspired by other Bees. The birdcage cardbox is great for all seasons, styles, and colors schemes.
– bird cage $5.99 ….at Ross- spray paint. $3.29 (3oz mini can)….at Michaels- Wired ribbon $2.97….At Walmart- Wooden Letters $3.24 (60pieces & I’ll use the rest for other projects)…at Walmart- Ultra Fine Glitter $3.99… at Michaels- Fake rose petals ($1.00 – 4.00)…Dollar Store/Walmart- Adhesives: glue gun & mod podge $+/- Hopefully you already have these two items. Prices vary and items are available at Walmart and Michaels.- Accent piece $+/- (add something special to make it yours)
Step1: Spray paint the cage to match your wedding colors and weave wired ribbon between the bars. The mini cans allow you to spray the inside better. Wired ribbon stays in place as you work with it.
STEP 2: Paint wooden letters with glue & cover with glitter. Ultra fine glitter is more expensive but it’s better quality and it keeps it from looking like school project.
STEP 3: Hot glue fake rose petals to floor of the birdcage to prevent cards from slipping all the way through. Use only a drop of glue per petal and over lap petals till you achieve the desired effect.
Step 4: Experiment with different designs to create an accent piece. Try creating a monogram with the extras letters. These papier-mâché box lids were .69cents at Michaels.
Step 5:Attach decorative letters and accent piece with glue gun and you’re done!
