Trying to avoid real flowers for both budget and eco-conscious reasons, I decided to make lace with satin flower wrist corsages for my Mom, FMIL, my Grandmother, FSIL and my Sister. I also made button bout’s for the Groom, my Dad, FFIL, my Grandfather and FBIL. Here is a picture of the bout for my dad and wrist corsage for my mom.

Mind posting instructions on how you did it? I’m not using flowers either and I kind of have an underlying ribbon and button theme throughout my wedding. I think that something like this would be nice for my mom and grandmother. Thanks! 🙂

For the satin flowers, I used the tutorial at: http://www.skiptomylou.org/2011/03/03/how-to-make-satin-fabric-flowers/. After I made the flowers, I decided to sew buttons into the center of the flowers and then sew them onto some lace that I had cut into a size comfortable for a wrist. I attached a button on the end of the lace – that is what will hold the corsage on the wrist. I haven’t cut the lace to exact length yet, I will let everyone do it for themselves on the morning of the wedding. The satin flowers were actually really easy to make – just be careful not to burn your fingers!
