Have you seen the Victorias Secret convertible dresses?  They are the same style and material as some of the more expensive ones but way cheaper!  I almost had my girls wear them but I was looking for a more subdued color.  I did order one to check out the construction, because I too considered making these.  The ‘flirty convertible dress’ has elastic in the waist, which is actually really nice, given I’m not sure if I want only jersey holding up the middle of my dress…. The straps are also crossed a bit in the front and pleated, so it ends up being very flattering.  I LOVED the dress, I ordered it in black, and it is the epitome of a little black dress, I can wear it a million different ways!

They also have a daytime version which is adorable! I would suggest taking a look at these before adding the stress of stitchery and having to do all of the circumference estimates to your wedding planning. Also, I found their sizing to be very accurate!  Good luck!  : )

I’m interested to see how they came out.  I contemplated doing the same thing, but found the pattern to not be specific enough for my minimal math/sewing skills to follow.  GOOD LUCK!

I saw these dresses in my bridesmaid search as well.  I was also heartbroken at the price.  I’ve already ordered the dresses, but I will definetly have to make one of these for me!  Thanks so much for the pattern!
