4 prongs vs 6 prongs .8 carat round diamond engagement ring?

I don’t think it needs more prongs. I personally don’t like seeing them. Mine has such small ones, I am kinda scared I will lose the diamond. I hope that jeweler knew what he was doing. If you are not completely satisfied with the ring, I don’t think you should waste your money on resetting it, but maybe getting a different ring/diamond? I have a .8 carat ring myself so I am definitely not criticizing the size 🙂 I have a pear shape halo though

Aren’t they just beautiful? Took my breath away when I saw my ring; with the The Diamond I selected. Here is my .8 ct diamond on a 5.5 finger. Your lady will love the ring. Especially with all the surrounding diamonds.

I love love love this ring no need to add more prongs! It’s definitely not small, I know that a .8 on my finger (I’m between a size 4.5 to 5) is a nice size.
The tapered band is a special touch. Your lady is a lucky one! smile

ordinaryman :  I believe I have the same ring and my center stone is .89 for a 1ct total weight. While filing papers in our lock box I stumbled across the receipt and it cost my husband about 3800.00. The cut color and clarity are beautiful. I will admit I was surprised the diamond wasn’t bigger but it sure does glisten! I have been wanting to upgrade for a few years and bought a 3.11 ct moisinatte ring. It’s firey, but could almost pass for the lightest of color of yellow diamond in the yellow diamond family. “Faint hello” is most comparable with the mosineitte. You can see how completely different they photograph as well. There were no bands that were made for to go with my original ring so it still just looks like an engagement ring. It seems silly after 5 years to get bands. I would rather upgrade all together. But not tinwhat I have now. It’s almost if not too large for my 3.25 ring size!

Forgot to add, a six prong ring  WILL NOT make your diamond look   Larger, if anything it makes it look smaller. I ordered a 2 ct CZ solitaire last time I was pregnant due to swelling and it had six prongs and I hated it!
